We hope this guide will help you access the many resources available to you as an architecture student at Yale. Starting with a wealth of academic materials, we've also included a few blogs and tips on searching, research, and writing.
Many of our resources can only be accessed by subscription, which means they are limited to current Yale students, faculty and staff. If you are off campus you will need to connect using the VPN--see Off-Campus Access--or come to the Arts library and we'll be happy to help you.
Orbis is the Yale University catalog, which will connect you to all the materials available to Yale students, faculty and staff. Please note that while you can search the catalog off-campus, you will not be able to connect to all databases and full-text links unless you establish a VPN connection.
Borrow Direct connects Yale users to the catalogs of Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, UPenn, Brown, MIT, and the University of Chicago.
WorldCat is a "union catalog" or database of over one billion records of materials in over 10,000 libraries around the world. It will help you locate materials outside of Yale.
