Welcome and Description

This guide assembles some of Yale's most important primary sources for the study of Asian American history. The guide focuses particularly on individuals and organizations of Chinese and Japanese descent, although some sources documenting the history of Koreans in American can also be found. Researchers will find sources organized by country of focus and thematic category. Of related interest to scholars working on Asian American history will be the history of Americans in Asia; sources touching on this topic can be found under the "Americans in Asia" tab.
