Cultural Theory and Cultural Studies

What's Here

"Cultural studies" is a highly interdisciplinary field concerned with a variety of aspects of social life, drawing on sociology, political and economic theory, literary theory, psychoanalytic theory, and other fields. The Blackwell Dictionary of Cultural and Critical Theory breaks it down into three main areas: subjectivity and consciousness; ideology and hegemony; and critique and polysemy.
