This guide identifies major information resources in botany including databases, bibliographies, handbooks, and guides.

Looking Up Journal Titles in Orbis

Journals received in print must be looked up in Orbis. Online journals can be looked up in Orbis or on their own page,

. When you search a journal title in Orbis, type the journal title in the simple (default) search box and then select Journal Title in the drop-down for the box to the right. Bound volume holdings are indicated in the line "Library has". LSF holdings refer to holdings at the Library Shelving Facility, a non-browsing storage site off campus. Many of the journal volumes held at LSF are accessible online to Yale library patrons. To page a volume from LSF to a Yale library of your choice, search the journal title in Orbis and then display the print edition holdings on the screen. Next, click on Place Requests to the right of the screen. You will then sign in with your NetID and click on delivery. In the next screen you will choose the volume you want from a drop-down list and then choose the library to deliver to from a drop-down list further down the screen. Lastly, you click on Submit. You will see a message on the screen if the request has been successfully submitted.
