Welcome!
About this Guide
The topical scope of this guide begins with the Byzantine Empire and ends with sources pertaining to contempary Greek society. The guide's purpose is highlighting key resources and crucial search strategies.
This website provides a guide to conducting research at Yale University on Medieval Greek history, languages (i.e., Latin and Modern Greek) and culture from the fall of the Roman Empire.
Most of the pages give examples that you can use as a model for your searches, descriptions of the main resources, and tips on how to use certain databases.
It's important to know that even though the guide focuses on strategies for finding books, often the same or similar approaches will work in article databases.
