Using Statistics

StatLab

The Social Science Statistical Laboratory (StatLab), a unit within Social Science Research Services (SSRS), supports technology classrooms and computing facilities for the Yale University research and teaching community.

The StatLab serves as a statistical information center for research and quantitative analysis providing in-depth consulting for statistical software, quantitative methods, Social Science data resources, geospatial resources and analysis, and technical developments.  More than 60 workstations and servers, and over 20 software packages serve interdisciplinary needs for statistical computing.

SPSS Software

SPSS is a powerful statistical package available on different platforms. The StatLab supports SPSS on the computers in the Statlab clusters and the Statlab Annex.

Medical Center faculty, staff and students can use SPSS on the Windows workstations in the Computer Resource Lab in the Medical Library.

Faculty and staff can purchase and download SPSS.  For more information, SPSS Ordering and Renewing

Yale students can rent SPSS through E-academy
