German language news sources online (WESS German Studies Web), with links to numerous daily and weekly newspapers such as Die Zeit, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and Neue Zürcher Zeitung, as well as weekly news and general interest magazines such as Der Spiegel and Profil.

Factiva - Same-day and archival coverage of more than 250 German language newpapers and magazines including full-text access to Deutsche Fleischer-Zeitung, Basler Zeitung, Focus, Frankfurter Rundschau, Hamburger Abendblatt, Le Monde Diplomatique (German edition), NZZ, SZ, and the Wochenblatt fuer Papierfabrikation.

LexisNexis Academic Universe - Same-day and archival coverage of newspapers, magazines, transcripts, business and legal information. Through LexisNexis you can search current editions and backfiles of more than a 120 German, Austrian and Swiss news publications, including Auto BILD, Berliner Morgenpost, Bunte, FAZ, Spiegel, Standard, taz, and Welt am Sonntag.

European language newspapers held by Yale (organized by country) - based on the complete list of all newspaper holdings that is kept in the Microform Reading Room.

Culture magazines online

Perlentaucher is an independent, cultural online magazine, founded in 2000. Perlentaucher offers daily press reviews on cultural topics and makes it easy to keep updated on the "hottest" German writers, artistst and directors of the moment.

signandsight.com, Perlentaucher's English language sister magazine, focusses on European culture in general. Signandsight translates outstanding articles by non-English language authors into English, drawing from a variety of topics.

euro|topics - European daily press review informing about political, cultural and societal debates from 28 countries (the EU and Switzerland). euro|topics is offered by the German Federal Agency for Political Education and is published in three languages (English, French and German). They can be obtained as a free Email newsletter as well.

culturekiosque - an e-zine containing "news, features, criticism, and interviews" on jazz, opera, classical music, art and archeology, dance, food, technology, and "nouveau." Covers cultural events and provides an impressive list of authors, who include Roswitha Erbsloh (art critic of Die Welt), Mike Zwerin (jazz and rock critic of the International Herald Tribune), Joseph E. Romero (feature writer for Le Monde), and Joel Kasow (opera critic for Opera), among others. In English, French, and German.

Radio stations online

Deutsche Welle online - Germany's international broadcasting station, with access to daily news in 35 languages, Live Audio, and Audio-on-Demand. The site also includes information on radio and television programs, program guides, satellite & radio frequencies, and mailing lists.
