The Finding Aids Coordinating Committee is generally encouraging of efforts to share EAD-encoded metadata. Currently, Yale finding aids are harvested and searchable through both OCLC's ArchiveGrid and Connecticut Archives Online. Selected finding aids are also available through additional databases.

The Yale Finding Aid Database is built on a Fedora repository, but currently we are unable to provide OAI-PMH harvesting of full EAD datastreams due to the size of many of our finding aids. We do, however, maintain a web directory where external parties can access our raw EAD data. If you are interested in harvesting our EAD, in part or in total, please contact FACC co-chair Mark Custer.

Though we do support broad distribution of our descriptive metadata, we reserve the right to refuse invitations to contribute to a given project, either as a whole or on a repository by repository basis.
