Use this guide to learn how to access library services and resource from off-campus, including research consultations, and access to scholarly resources in print and electronic format.

COVID-19 Updates

Find Online Books and Articles + Course Reserves

Yale Library is working with your faculty to make as many course readings available online as possible through our Course Reserves service in Canvas.

  • For material that is not currently linked in Canvas, check to see if Yale Library has online books and articles available using Quicksearch (search by book title, not chapter title) and Articles+ (search by article title or by keyword).

Research Consultations

While classes are online, you have a few options to meet with a librarian. You can:

  1. Email your Personal Librarian to ask a question or request an online consultation. To find the contact information for your Personal Librarian, visit library.yale.edu/pl
  2. Email a Subject Specialist Librarian to ask a question or request an online consultation. To find the Subject Specialist Librarian that matches your discipline, visit: library.yale.edu/subject-specialists

Scan & Deliver

How to access library e-resources when off campus

To find online resources from Yale Library, start your research from Quicksearch, Orbis, Databases A-Z, or other library access points.

  • Links to resources on library pages will prompt Yale users to log in with their NetID and password.
    • Note: Some resources have alternative methods of access, which will be provided with instructions.
  • Remote access requires Yale authorized users to authenticate through Yale's multifactor authentication (DUO).
