Library Workshop Incentive Program: FAQ and Contact

Use this page to learn about the Program and to find workshops to attend, either a la carte or as part of a themed workshop track.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to sign-up to be eligible for a prize?

You will become eligible for the Workshop Incentive Program by registering for a workshop with your @yale.edu email address. You will need to also attend in order for the workshop to count toward the program.

Q: Do tours count toward the program?

At this time, we are unable to include attendance to tours or lectures toward the Workshop Incentive Program.

Q: What if I can't find a workshop that fits my schedule?

If you can't find a workshop that fits your schedule, reach out to us (see contact information below). We might be able to add more workshops to the calendar. We can also connect you with your Personal Librarian or Subject Specialist Librarian for individual research support.

Q: What prize can I earn?

A Yale Library tote bag! If you have previously earned a tote bag, you have the option to select a Yale Library water bottle.

Q: How will I be contacted about my prize?

Workshop registration will require that you submit your @yale.edu email address. A librarian will reach out to you at this email address around either October Recess or finals (depending on when you complete at least 3 workshops) to collect your prize.

Q: Where can I pick up my prize?

Prizes can be picked up at the Bass Library Service Desk on the courtyard level. Library staff will have a list of eligible students. A librarian will also confirm the pick-up location when you are emailed to confirm your prize eligibility.

Q: What if I just want to take workshops and don't want a prize?

That's totally fine! If for any reason you do not wish to participate, you can decline your prize if and when it is offered to you.

Q: Why are you doing this program?

Librarians created this program to incentivize students to take library workshops. It's also fun and another way to show students we care!

Q: Who can I contact if I have more questions?

Questions about the Workshop Incentive Program can be directed to any of the librarians listed below.
