Image Resources: Arts Library Digital Services

Yale University's Arts Library Digital Services guide to digital image resources.

Arts Library Digital Services

The Arts Library Digital Services (ALDS) manages collections of legacy images related to global art, architecture and material culture to support teaching and research in the Arts and Humanities.

The Visual Resources Collection digital image collection contains more than 370,000 items.

Our analog collections include lantern slides, 35mm slides, and photographs. Many of the images in the Visual Resources Digital Collections are scans from books, slides or reproductions in our collection.

ALDS staff offer a variety of services to the Yale community, including scanning lecture materials, maintaining VRC digital collections, and providing recommendations for scanning and storing personal digital collections. Yale faculty may order digital images from books and journals, or share personal collections of photographs to be added to the image collection. Please email Maria Zapata or Tess Colwell to initiate an order.
