Continuing Medical Education (CME) Resources: Medical Letter

This guide is to help clinicians, staff, and researchers at Yale find information about CME resources made available to them through the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library at Yale.

About the Medical Letter

The Medical Letter publishes critical appraisals of new prescription drugs and comparative reviews of drugs for common diseases. Medical Letter's Self-study program is based on content from their biweekly newsletter.

How to earn and redeem CME credits in the Medical Letter

  1. Click on Continuing Education on left on The Medical Letter
  2. Enter your email address to get enrolled for the first time
  3. Once you are enrolled use your email address on the same page to see individual exams
  4. Read the Medical Letter topic and click on "Take Exam"
  5. Acknowledge you have read the CME accreditation agencies requirement by checking the box at the bottom and click CONTINUE 
  6. Read the material associated with the exam
  7. Submit the exam
  8. A print certificate will be mailed to you approximately four to six weeks after the exam is received at The Medical Letter.
