About this Guide

Pride Month Book Display at Marx Library

The first Pride parade took place in New York City on June 28, 1970, the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. Pride marches were the culmination of decades of previous LGBTQ+ activism and organizing.

During the month of June, Marx Science and Social Science Library honors the work of LGBTQ+ activists, past and present. Below is a sampling of titles related to the Pride movement and LGBTQ+ lives more broadly.
