Key Information

Manuscripts and Archives is currently undergoing a major renovation of its public spaces. While the renovation is in progress all public services, including the reading room where researchers consult collection materials, will be temporarily relocated to the Franke Room in Sterling Memorial Library. Franke is immediately to your left as you enter the library through the main (High Street) entrance.


CLOSURE NOTICE:

Manuscripts and Archives will be closed to all researchers beginning at 4:45 PM on Friday, December 15, 2017. We expect to reopen to researchers at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.

Please note, however, that that our opening is subject to change.


The temporary Manuscripts and Archives reading room in the Franke Room in Sterling Memorial Library (SML 175) will close for research use at 4:45 PM on Friday, December 15, 2017, so that we can begin the move of the department's public services operations back into the newly renovated Manuscripts and Archives reading room.

The reading room is expected to reopen for researcher use in our iconic reading room (SML 150), in the Wall Street wing of Sterling Memorial Library across from the Memorabilia Room and Lecture Hall at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.


Directions to Manuscripts and Archives after January 17, 2018From the High Street entrance to Sterling Memorial Library, proceed through the Nave and turn right. From the York Street entrance to the Center for Teaching and Learning, proceed through CTL and turn left as you enter the library and pass the Periodicals/Newspaper reading room. Follow the hallway through the student exhibits corridor and past the Library Administration office. Our entrance is on the right, just before the Wall Street emergency exit door, directly opposite the Memorabilia Room and Lecture Hall.
