Mission

The YUL Media Preservation Unit provides expert consultation and handling of Library audiovisual materials from acquisition to digitization and access. Our services include the digitization of materials, preservation housing, and advice on long-term storage.

Media Preservation Office Hours

Media Preservation holds office hours on the third Tuesday of every month. Please drop in to discuss the care, handling, and digitization of audiovisual materials. 

A zoom link is emailed to the YULib email list on the day of each office hour session.

Andrea handles general questions about the Unit and its activities, including consultations about AV collections, questions about digitization and ingest into Preservica., and projects related to film rehousing and identification.

Ron Sutfin

Technical Assistant

Ron is the technical lead for the SAMMA in-house video digitization suite, in-house audio digitization, and patron request digitization. 

Michael Roy

Reformatting Assistant

MIchael handles the QC of digitized files and the shipment of materials to and from our vendors.
