About E-Resource Trials

The following databases are being evaluated by Yale University Library on a trial basis. Decisions to acquire databases at the conclusion of the trial period are contingent upon availability of funds, appropriateness to the collection, and user feedback. Trial Period: June 12, 2025 - July 12, 2025

Contemporary Art Library publishes and archives documentation of art exhibitions. It includes over 900,000 images, documents, and videos.

Recently Expired Trials

World Politics Review

Trial Period: February 12, 2025 - April 18, 2025

World Politics Review is a database providing news and analysis of global affairs. It covers all regions of the globe. Contributing writers include researchers, academics, policymakers, and journalists. 


Global Census Archive

Trial Period: February 25, 2025 - March 25, 2025, Extended to April 12, 2025

Global Census Archive includes official data and publications issued by national census authorities from around the world. GCA provides a platform to explore the world’s census publications including original census publications in e-book form, as well as modern tabular data in Excel format and GIS datasets.


Paulist Press: Classics of Western Spirituality Post-1500

Trial Period: February 14, 2025 - March 14, 2025

Classics of Western Spirituality Post-1500 is a digital library of historical spiritual texts. It contains multiple genres of spiritual writing, including poems, songs, essays, theological treatises, meditations, mystical biographies, and philosophical investigations. It includes 61 volumes of texts dating from 1500 onwards, all translations of major works from the tradition. 


Paulist Press: Classics of Western Spirituality Pre-1500

Trial Period: February 14, 2025 - March 14, 2025

Classics of Western Spirituality Pre-1500 is a digital library of historical spiritual texts. It series contains multiple genres of spiritual writing, including poems, songs, essays, theological treatises, meditations, mystical biographies, and philosophical investigations. It includes 76 volumes of texts dating prior to 1500.


Paulist Press: Ancient Christian Writers

Trial Period: February 14, 2025 - March 14, 2025

Ancient Christian Writers is a an ebook collection of works of early Christian theologians from the late-biblical and patristic periods. The collection contains letters, biblical commentaries, theological treatises, works of philosophy, and martyrdom narratives.


Beamafilm

Trial Period: February 4, 2025 - March 4, 2025

Beamafilm is a streaming platform offering a  collection of award-winning movies, documentaries, and series. The catalogue features many Australasian films.


Modern Construction Online

Trial Period: November 25, 2024 - December 25, 2024 - Trial extended to 2/28/25

Modern Construction Online gives architects, engineers, and construction professionals  information on modern construction techniques and materials. This database covers many aspects of modern construction techniques, and offers advice on choosing the right materials and methods for each project. It includes illustrations, schematic drawings, and diagrams.


Imperial Era Newspapers Bibliography

Trial Period: January 16, 2025 - February 15, 2025

Imperial Era Newspapers Bibliography is a reference database cataloging over newspaper titles and their bibliographic data from the late 18th to early 20th centuries. It comprises newspapers published in numerous languages including Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Yiddish, German, and others.
