How do I login? |
All users whether on or off campus will be asked to authenticate with net ID and password before reading books within the browser. You may create a personal account with a unique username and password here. If you do choose to create an account you will be able to download materials as well as have access to additional platform functionality like highlighting text, saving items to your "bookshelf" and organizing text into personal folders. |
Do I need an e-reader to view materials? |
Materials can be read online, so an e-reader is not required. If you do wish to use an e-reader, more information about downloading material to your device is available here. |
Is special software required? |
Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is required if users wish to download content as an EPUB. Adobe Digital Editions is available for free through Ebook Central. You will receive a prompt to download the program upon book checkout. Users may also download ADE for free from the ADE website. Need an Adobe ID? Click here for more information. |
How do I access materials? | Entire books can be downloaded 1, 7, 14, or 21 days and chapter downloads have no time limit. Materials can also be read online, highlighted, annotated and stored on your "bookshelf" for later use. |
Limitations? |
Users who are online can print up to 30% of the text and copy up to 15% of the text. The system will calculate this number for you. Users who are offline that have downloaded the text may print up to 10% of the text and copy up to 10% of the text. The system will provide these numbers to you. What should I expect when my loan period ends? |
Materials are loaned for 1, 7, 14, or 21 days; you select the checkout period when you download the book. The download will no longer be usable at the end of the loan period. |
