Workshop Summary:

This workshop was part of the third season of the Peer-to-Peer Teaching sessions. These are taught by our own community members to fill knowledge gaps and keep up with the accelerated pace at which bioinformatics grows. This season we are pleased to announce sessions covering * Image analysis methodologies (imageJ and QuPath) * Omics analysis in R and/or Python * Biomedical Data analysis using the clusters * Statistical analysis software (Prism) *Science communication (Illustrator).

This session on "Introduction to Statistics using GraphPad Prism" was designed and will be delivered by Violet Kimble, a Neuroscience Ph.D. student in Dr.Nii Addy’s lab in the department of Molecular Psychiatry.

Summary:

You were introduced to basic statistical concepts utilized in GraphPad Prism. Despite the user-friendly appeal of GraphPad, basic statistical knowledge is needed to design our experiments correctly and analyze them as well. By increasing your understanding of statistics, you are able to present your data in an understandable, publication-ready way, and also learned how to navigate the statistical menu of GraphPad.

This workshop was designed for:

Trainees interested in learning how to perform statistical analysis in GraphPad Prism

This workshop covered:

  • Descriptive statistics
  • T-test

Duration: 1.5 hrs

Instructor: Violeta Kimble
