Conservation Student Assistants, Conservation & Exhibit Services

Conservation & Exhibition Services, Preservation Department, Yale University Library

Student positions are available during both the academic term and during the summer, usually creating simple protective housings for book, pamphlets, and other library objects.  Students may also be needed to work on special projects or to do some minor repair.  These positions offer students a chance to work along with YUL's professional conservators and conservation assistants and to acquire some basic skills and experience in conservation and preventative conservation.  When available, positions are posted through the University's Student Employment Office.

Exhibition Production Student Assistants, Conservation & Exhibit Services

Conservation & Exhibition Services, Preservation Department, Yale University Library

Student positions are available during both the academic term and during the summer to assist with various production aspects of library exhibits.  These positions offer students opportunities to acquire or practice skills in the areas of mount-making, graphics/label production, and installation.  Students will work closely with the Library's exhibits production coordinator and conservation staff.  When available, positions are posted through the University's Student Employment Office.

Student Assistant, Arts Library Special Collections

Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library, Yale University Library

Work hands-on with materials in Arts Library Special Collections under the supervision of the librarian and the Library Services Assistant. Duties include, but are not limited to, shelving, barcoding, creating simple inventories, data entry, assisting readers, and monitoring the front desk. Additionally, the Library Student Assistant may assist in the rehousing of rare and fragile materials. Students must be available to work on Monday through Thursdays.
