3.  What features would you like to see in a replacement for Find Articles?
Something that works, like Google Scholar maybe.
I'm not usually in "Find Article". I was brought to this survey by selecting "Find Database." I find articles through Factiva and LexisNexis in general, but if I were looking at Find Articles, I couldn't really tell you how I find things. It sometimes takes a lot of searching to get to the place that returns what I want. Sorry I can't be more specific. I have bookmarked the magazines I look at because it is just not intuitive to find them (for me). One thing is that it seems like it would be helpful to provide sample names, such as Search Magazines (e.g. Town & Country current issues) or something--spell it out.  Thank you!
Nothing in particular.
option to search Google scholar by subject/topic/discipline
direct access to the search window from teh home page, better guidance as to the more appropriate database
How about "what's new"? It seems sources are routinely added or removed, but I'm not aware of any way to see which.
I don't know anything about how these things work, but it seems like even when I type in the exact title of an article, it still doesn't always show up. It should be more like google.
More full text articles, and more articles relevant to the subject I searched
I would love it if Find Articles worked as efficiently as Google Scholar.
distinction between academic paper and book review
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "Find Articles." The way this question is asked, it seems to imply that there is a "Find Articles" feature somewhere...I always pick a database and then "find articles" within that database.
Good lord -- at the very least, please make the links go to the actual articles!!! About 60% of the links I find (YALE-LINKS) are broken. It's embarrassing that a school so good has a library database that's so crappy. Feel free to email me: mary.bridges@yale.edu because I have lots of words about how frustrating this site is!
A dedicated search function for book reviews.
I would like the web site to make it easier for me to get to Pubmed and Web of Knowledge.  I don't understand why they are buried so deeply.
Foe fields I know, I tend to use specific bibliographical databases, so I'd don't see the need for more refinement.
easier access, easier use
Databases to specific majors
Lately it's been hard to use Find Articles and it doesn't turn up much for me.
full text available articles only option
More intuitive searching, like Google Scholar
Better search algorithms.
I would like an improvement for Find Articles especially in regards to Near Eastern History
I don't use this. Instead I look at the databases that are most likely to have the medieval materials I need.
more like google scholar
I don't know what happened, but today's search and retrieval was the easiest I have ever experienced since starting at Yale.
I'd like it to search the databases and E-Journals as well.  I just tried to find an article from Notes and Queries through the "find and article" search, and it didn't come up. So I went to E-Journals, then found Notes and Queries, then found the issue number, etc, and found it. And since I know Yale has access to it, it's incredibly frustrating that the system acts like we don't. What if I hadn't known all the additional information? It's silly to have all these resources and not have a system to make use of them all.
More articles returned in initial list so no longer need to retrieve more to see more
Easier selection and manipulation of databases.
More access to full text articles - sometimes I see things there I can use, but I have no way to find where they actually are, either online, in the library, or through borrowdirect.  This part is extremely frustrating.
I would like to know about the location of the periodicals as well
More full texts available as PDFs
The fact that only a subset of the articles found are initially retrieved - I would rather have all found articles be retrieved immediately.
Select all feature.
FIND DATABASES.... this should include databases by subject where patrons can browse. Find ARTICLES is not useful and very limited in it's functionality for more in-depth research.
Clearer way to search within results
Ease of clarification
nothing special
accommodating articles
Customize Search
I have no problems with what is available now
N/A
A feature similar to Amazon that brings your attention to articles you may be interested in.  For example, if you find a relevant article, there may be a feature that says..."users who downloaded this article or cited this article also downloaded or cited the following"
As easy as finding the right articles with Google or Amazon (for ex.) is for finding what I'm seeking. Truly easy input of URLs I receive from others.  This can become a great service.
A better keyword search interface with clear help on how to construct queries for words and phrases
Find Articles was marginally helpful up until a few months ago, when the default changed to only 'Health' databases. Since then, it is useless to anyone who isn't looking for a medical article. Previously it was relatively easy to use.
A wider range of databases, including more humanities databases. Thanks!
One search engine to search everything, like google scholar
Possibly an easy "help" guide or test run through running the article search. Often times don't know how to enter in information to get the best/most relevant results quickly.
Everything  is ok
It is fine
More power over which journals, more keywords, year parameters, more databases searched
there are too many layers to get to the PDF - then, once one gets to the article one needs, it is very difficult to return to the original list, so one has to keep "re-searching" the term.
I use specific databases that I know will have relevant results.
I dislike the fact that you can only see 30 articles that relate to your search result
should be able to access bloomberg energy database when I can't.
If you put in an author's name, do not add others with the same first name or last.
simpler search engine that allows you to search by topics with a date range. would make processing returns and monitoring research easier.
listed immediately in Yale Orbis when one searches for an article in scientific american 1974. Cannot answer other questions as this is the first time I have used it.
I am not looking for articles. I am looking for a database, in particular ESTC. Therefore, I am unable to accurately answer the first two questions.
Be able to do a Google-style search for an article title/subject and the journal/publication title. We should be able to just spit everything out into a search box and get the relevant results. This is how it works on the New Yorker website, too, when I'm looking for old articles.
a "subject" search as well as keyword and title search
