Asian American Cultural Center - A Research Guide: Find Asian American Resources
This research guide was created for students at the Asian American Cultural Center at Yale. Use this guide to learn about accessing Yale Library resources, as well as specific resources for Asian American Studies.
If you want to find material about Asian American’s in the library catalog, a keyword search for simply “asian Americans” would be far too general.
Below is a starter list of what is available to search by subject instead (the full list would be far too large to list here). Use these phrases to conduct a subject search (using Advanced Search in Orbis).
Most of the subject headings listed below subdivide further by topic or by geography. For instance, if you search for “Filipino Americans” you will see results that include additional topics and geographic locations associated with Filipino Americans.
A summary of Yale University Library's South Asia Collection, which includes material from and about Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Himalayan region, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
