These external-to-Yale example finding aids are intended to provide examples how how other institutions have approached archival description for born-digital material. They are not intended to provide direct guidance on how to create archival description at Yale. We welcome suggestions for additional examples; please contact the Yale University Library Archival and Manuscript Description Committee with suggestions.

Examples of Born Digital Description in Finding Aids Website. This website was created by the Born Digital Description Project as part of the Digital Library Federation’s (DLF) Born Digital Access Working Group. It is a community-driven initiative to document current descriptive practices around born digital archival materials in 2021-2022. This is a snapshot of practices and is not intended to change or update over time.
