ORCID: Adding Documents to Your ORCID

A guide for researchers on using ORCID.

ORCID Claiming in Various Databases

Web of Science

The Web of Science only allows people with ResearcherIDs to link into the WoS and export records.

CrossRef

CrossRef is where digital object identifiers (DOIs) come from. A DOI is something like 10.1103/PhysRevB.72.055502 or 10.1007/978-3-319-05837-5 They already have information about most papers, so their ORCID integration is great!

Importing from ADS Bumblebee

ADS Bumblebee does not currently make it possible to search via ORCID, but it does allow an individual to claim documents using their ORCID identifier. The first step is to click on the ORCID icon and sign in — you will be authenticated through to ORCID. Once you have signed in, go back to the main page for ADS Bumblebee. Click on the ORCID icon again and see the panel of options. The "Learn how to claim ORCID papers" link will walk you through the process for claiming your papers in the ADS. It's quick and easy, and if you run into difficulties finding your papers, ask a librarian!
