Getting Started with Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS): Home

About WRDS

Wharton Research Data Services, often referred to as WRDS, is a research platform that provides access to a variety of different datasets across multiple disciplines.

While access to the WRDS platform is made available by the Yale School of Management, all Yale University faculty, students, and researchers are eligible for access and may use the currently available data.  Access to WRDS requires users to have an individual account.

Faculty and students from Yale University may request a WRDS account by registering at https://wrds-www.wharton.upenn.edu/ and following these steps:

  1. Select Register for a WRDS Account
  2. Select Yale as your Institution.
  3. Select the appropriate affiliation type.
  4. Complete the form using your Yale email address and submit.

You will receive an email with login instructions after the WRDS administrators approve your request. Approval may take up to 48 hours.

Please note: The WRDS services are for academic and non-commercial research purposes only. Users may not use data downloaded from the WRDS database for any non-academic or commercial endeavor.

WRDS Data

Yale University does not subscribe to all data that is available from WRDS.  To view a list of what is currently available, visit Data Available at Yale.
