Company Target Lists

Using existing lists are a quick and easy way to identify companies in a specific industry or with specific traits:

Freely available ranking lists: 

Yale resources:

  • Vault Career InsiderLibrary licensed resource that requires an individual account with a yale.edu email address for off-campus access. VPN can also be used for access without a personal account. Publishes lists of Top-Ranked Companies, covering a range of industries and functions, including Best Banking, Best Consulting, and Accounting Firms. Rankings include information on firm culture, compensation, and work-life balance. 
  • Competitor Lists in company profiles available through Company Databases. Note: Competitors are identified for various reasons depending on the source. 

Search for public and private companies by industry, location, size, and other criteria with the following databases. 

Identify start-up or VC-backed companies with these databases.

Search for nonprofit organizations by location, programs, and more.
