Music Databases: Henle Library - Campus Edition

A guide to music focused databases available to the Yale Community

Accessing the Henle Library App

  1. Create a member account at https://www.henle-library.com/en/institutions/#createaccount. This must be done from the Yale secure campus network or VPN.
    1. Use your official Yale email address.
    2. Should you already use the app with that email address as a personal account, you need to change the email address of that personal account to another address so you can use the Yale address to create the member account.
  2. Install the app from the App Store at https://apps.apple.com/app/henle-library/id1021283948, or install the Android version from the Google Play Store at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchpress.henle.
    1. Remember, both the iOS and the Android versions only work on tablets, not on smartphones or desktop/laptop computers (except for the new M1 chip Macbooks and Chromebooks).
  3. In the app, log into your new account using the email address and password you just used to create the account.
  4. Go to the store in the app and add any score to your library without any charges.
  5. Personal app users can transfer their data to their new campus account.
    1. To do so, log into the app using your old personal account details then choose ‘Transfer User Data’ from the account section.
    2. Then log in the app using your institutional account.
  6. Periodically users must revalidate their institutional account.
    1. This can be done from https://www.henle-library.com/en/institutions/#revalidate from the Yale secure campus network or VPN
    2. For some institutions it can be done by using the Henle Library app (again, while on campus or on VPN).
  7. After completion of studies, users have the option to transfer personal entries and settings to a private account (access to sheet music is subject to a charge)
