Artist Biography

Photograph of Jacoby SatterwhiteJacolby Satterwhite (1986) is a Brooklyn-based artist who creates immersive installations. As a child in Columbia, South Carolina Satterwhite found artistic inspiration in music videos and video games. The works of his late mother, self-taught artist Patricia Satterwhite, have also continued to strongly influence Satterwhite's pieces. He attended the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he obtained his BFA in 2008. Satterwhite then earned his MFA at the University of Pennsylvania. His works often address themes such as ritual, fantasy, freedom and world-building.
