Naeem Mohaiemen (1969) is an Associate Professor of Visual Arts at Columbia University. His artistic practice spans the realms of film, photography, and installation art. Mohaiemen was born in London and spent parts of his youth in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Libya. He received his BA in economics and concentration in history from Oberlin College in 1993. He also completed a PhD in anthropology at Columbia University in 2019. His works tend to focus on the history and culture of the postcolonial era in South Asia.
