Ruth Lauer Manenti is a photographer based in Palenville, NY. Originally from Philadelphia, she earned her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1990 and a MFA in painting and drawing from Yale University in 1995. She is currently working on a second MFA in photography at the University of Hartford. Her work is inspired by the teachings of her parents who valued nature, impermanence, and finding the beauty in small things. Manenti is also passionate about yoga, which she began practicing after breaking her neck at the age of twenty in a car crash. She teaches workshops and has written multiple books inspired by her yoga practice.
